I tested this on a new game as well with SkyTEST off and it was still reproducable near wolf pup spawns. It’s either one of the subspecies of Wolf pups (gray wolf pup) can cause CTD or the respawn script has some kind of bug in it. I was exhausted after figuring out that Goblins can fuck my game up so I only spent several hours trying to understand whats going on. I just turned off Goblins in MCMĪdditional animal spawn can cause CTD sometimes. It’s also a known bug I believe but there are like 40 subspecies of goblins and only one of them causes it. One subspecies of Goblins spawned in Wilderness can cause CTD ( I could pretty much reproduce it just by starting a new game and going to cells where goblins usually spawn ). And yes I played with official SIC patch installed, SkyTEST patch installed and few other patches as well to solve all of the conflicts. I would call it 200h wasted because SIC showed itself very unstable even more unstable than its classic version. I didn’t play with Beasts of Tamriel but I have 600h in total on classic Skyrim with SiC and about 200h in SSE with SIC. Numerous creatures fit my playstyle much better, because I am already using a lot of new NPC mods and my roads and cities are heavily populated.Īnother question is, would it be safe to remove BT in the middle of playthrough and install SIC instead of it? However, what I liked about SIC is that it adds A LOT of creatures, while BT adds just A BUNCH of them. So, I really don't know what SIC really offers in terms of visuals/balance quality.Īlso from what I read even purist version of SIC isn't that lore-friendly, while BT seems to be pretty consistent with the lore. And yes, I was using the SIC unofficial patch. But this time I did everything right and I only get an occasional CTD). I had SIC installed on my previous game, but it didn't last long because it was very unstable (I really don't know if SIC was responsible for that.

I am currently playing with BT, and while I like it's stability and good balance, some of the creatures are pretty low quality (models/textures) which breaks immersions for me (the only other creature mod I'm using is Animallica and it integrates seamlessly).Īlso, some of the friendly monsters like crocodiles in the Ragged Flacon or wildcat/reptile mounts in orc strongholds move very awkwardly, constantly bumping into walls, which also breaks immersion.Īnother bug I encountered was when a monster shark for some reason spawned in the Winterhold Inn (!?) What are the pros and cons of using each one of these mods?
